September Book Club: Master of Poisons by Andrea Hairston (conclusion)
Come join our September Book Club meeting for a discussion of Master of Poisons by Andrea Hairston over at The Roasted Bookery in Designworx. Bring chill vibes and your well read book to chill with our group. If we’re sold out you can also try our local library here or pick it up from our bookshop site, here.
We love the community we’ve developed for our store. Our lobby can be a little toasty, but we provide:
- snacks
- drinks (bottled water, let’s not get wild here)
- comfy chairs
- great conversation
Excerpt from the description:
“The world is changing:
- Poison desert eats good farmland.
- Once-sweet water turns foul.
- The wind blows sand and sadness across the Empire.
- To get caught in a storm is death.
- To live and do nothing is death.
There is magic in the world, but good conjure is hard to find.”
This book will be the longest that we’ve ever done in book club. We will split this tome over two sessions, the first in August and the second in September. This is the second meeting for this novel, we hope to complete our journey through the poison sands.
After sharing brilliant theories with our book club about the world Andrea Hairston is creating in Master of Poisons, you’ll have the rest of The Cargo District to explore:
-
Dinner
- Salito’s
- Cheesesmith
- Beat St
- Salt and Charm, just to name a few
-
Shopping
- Hello, love
- Crafted Outpost
- The Fuzzy Needle
- Bookworm Pottery, just to name a few
You can’t beat it. We think it’s pretty dope way to spend a Thursday afternoon. Sign up for our newsletter here for updates on this and future book club events. Check out our other fantasy/sci-fi offerings here for additional reads if you loved Master of Poisons.
